Key to this decision to use the Acrylife recovery process for this application was the ability to go directly over the existing substrate. Because this is a food processing facility, the possibility of foreign material entering the processing stream from screws penetrating the deck mechanically fastening a roof system was not an option. The 2000 system employs a double membrane technology, with polyester fabric interface for added tensil strength in a layer of cold applied asphalt. This underlying system is protected from the destructive effects of the suns ultraviolet rays by a cold elastomeric Acrylic coating.
